The research topic raised was the formation of the Pasar Lama Chinatown settlement which has a planar road network with the character 王 (Wang). His research is based on the post-positivism paradigm in a qualitative approach with an inductive strategy. The results of his research show that the Pasar Lama Chinatown Settlement has a spatial structure based on the culture and philosophy of the Wang script. Where the 王 (Wang) script is an ancient script which serves as a guide or guidance for the Benteng Chinese community to organize the layout and direction of facing buildings and settlements. The settlement system based on ancient script culture and philosophy is a substantive theory found to be related to the research topic.
